CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTORS.
FIGHT OR WORK. LONDON, March 23. In the House of Commons there was much criticism of the tribunals' treatment of conscientious objectors. 0 Several speakers declared that conscientious objectors were browbeaten and insulted. Mr. Lloyd George said it was difficult to discriminate between real conscientious objectors and those nsing it as a cloak for cowardice. He welcomed the suggestion that such objectors should be asked what services they are prepared to offer the country. Nobody could doubt the country was in great trouble. Nobody couM doubt that the whole destiny of the country depended on what happene'd in the near future. The Government was entitled to ask these men to help the country.
