He describes the Germans as cruel, vicious, and unreliable. Prisoners are brutally treated.. For many months they have not been supplied with hot water. In Wurtemberger camp there are 000 typhus cases,, and the only medical attention ia from a few members of the British. Red Cross. A Ruhleben-Australirm Society ftas been formed, with Mr. C. Sing, of New Zealand, as president. MELBOURNE, This Day. A Socialist Society TU'oposed a mo« tion at a meeting of 3,000 people against conscription. An Australian body of returned soldiers rushed 'tli'3 ' platform, turned round the Socialists * motion, and carried one of confidence in the war authorities. * The Marine Board has resolfed that during the currency of the war enemy subjects be not allowed to apply fo? certificates in the mercantile marine.
