Thereupon they flew to Essen and 'also bombed the railway station. The Telegraf reports that . Allied aviators flew over Essen, Munich, and Gladbach, near Dusseldorf. Six sheds at Essen were destroyed. ITALIAN OFFENSIVE'S VALUE. 50,000 AUSTRIANS KEPT FROM VERDUN. ROME, March 15. Owing to the Italian offensive, 50,000 Austrian s who were about to reinforce the Germans at Verdun, were stopped at Innsburck. THE SUGAR INDUSTRY. SYDNEY, March 15. The passengers by the Makura include Mr. G. H. Pritchard, representing the Sugar Producers' Association. He is proceeding to England to attend a conference with the object of ousting the German sugar trade.
