HIBERNIAN SPORTS.

ST. PATRICK'S DAY The annual Sports to he 'void under the auspices of the Taihapc Hibernian Society on St. Patrick’s Day promise to he very successful, and it is to ho hoped there "will be a very large attendance as the proeeds are to be devoted to the funds for the promotion of a Returned Soldiers’ Club. A refreshment stall will b e on the ground, the proceeds from which are to be given to the Red Cross funds. The sports themselves should be full of interest. Splendid nominations have been received for the chopping events, and some excellent chopping should be witnessed. The jumping events also will create a good competition, as usual in this district. The programme drawn up is an excellent one, and given a fine day the attenddanee should be a record one. In the evening a concert will be held in the Town Hall. Special items suitable for the occasion have been put on the programme, and there will no doubt b e a large attendance.
