Bidi ding was well l sustained for most lines, i and practically everything was sold I under the hammer at satisfactory iigures. In comparison with our last sale lon February 4th, the comparison of j prices shows a decrease- all round and lis practically summed up as follows: ; Full-woolled sheepskins of good qualij ty, a decline of lid to 2d per lb; short j and inferior Hint's, from par to Id per lb lower; good texture and sound hides j of all weights declined from Id to lid 1 per lb, but the drop was most notieoj able with the prohibited shipment ! weights. The lowered prices for sheepskins is accounted for with the corresponding decline in London and the restricted competition for hides, through th e recent embargo placed on oversea shipments, is keeping their values down to such an extent that for the present w® deem it necessary to hold over some of our best lines. The range of prices is as follows: Sheepskins: Fine crossbred, 101 to .11 id; medium coarse crossbred, lOd to lid; short and half wools, (id to 9-Id; dead and damaged, Sd to 10d; inferior and badly damaged 2d to 7d; lambs, 9d to 10jd; damp, sailed, and. green, 1/7 to 8/10; pelts, 2/4 to 5/11. Hides: Ox, heavy lOd; Ox. medium 9 5-Sd to 10d; ox, light 8 5-Sd to 9d; cow, heavy S]d to 9d; cow, medium Sid to 85d; cow, light 7;;d to Sid; cut, slippy, and inferior old to S’d; bull stag 4-Id to (/Id; yearlings, 7/1 to Sd; calf, sup. 9d to 95d: calf, medium good Sid to 95d; calf, damaged 3d to Sid.
