A German communique says: Southeast of Ypres Canal, the English penetrated a position which wq took on the 14th February. The British broke through a small front to our advanced trenches, but were immediately expel 1 ed. They still maintain themselves at isolatel place. On the heights of the Mouse, after vigorous arttillery preparation, we cleared the village of Douaumont and advanced our lines west and south of the village and fort into a favourab 1 condition.
Our , airmen bombarded French troops into a fortress in the region of Verdun.
Lieutenant Tmrnelmann, east of Donai, shot down his ninth enemy aeroplane, which is a British biplane.
