AN EXPECTED SENSATIONAL ADDRESS.
IN THE ITALIAN CHAMBER OF DEPUTIES
WHY ITALY DID NOT JOIN AT SALONIKA,
ENGLAND AND PRANCE MADE A MISTAKE
ROMP, March 3
Premier Sonino Was expected to make a sensational address to the Chamber to-day, justifying Italy’s non participation at Salonika.. He said shortly after Bulgaria mobilised, Ccfant Bosdari, the Italian minister at Sofia, notified the Government of Bulgaria’s intention to join Germany. Italy communicated with England and France, urging the occupation of Salonika .'in order to save Servia. Sir Edward Grey and M. Viviani refused, believing that Bulgaria would join the Allies. When France and England discovered their mistake they at once invited Italy to join in 'a Salonika expedition. Italy declined, saying it was now too late to save Servia.
