TRICOLOUR DAY.
The .following has been received by , the Mayoress (Mrs. Arrowsmith), as president of the Tricolour Day Committee, which conveys, not only the feeling of the writer, but of many other people in this district: — Ruanui Station, Mataroa, March 4th, 19KT. Dear Mrs. Arrowsmith,- — I think everyone 1 must -have been disappointed with the results of Tricolour Day. It was a great mistake the Show Committee not allowing collectors on the ground for such a cause.-. Surely the tremendous fighting rounds Verdun the last few days should show* us the need our have for every penny wo can collect for their Red Cross work. I enclose £2 as a small donation and Mrs Fordo will subscribe £5 if 19 others will do the same. I think Taihape and district should be able to collect as much as Hunterville has done —they have imjeed shown us an example.—Yours irulV, CHARLES FORDE.
