JACK JOHNSON. FORCED TO LEAVE ENGLAND. LONDON, February 28. Jack Johnson protested against an official warning to leave the country, but the officials were adamant. They were armed with numerous complaints about his conduct towards chorus girls employed in his revue. Johnson and •his wife sail on Friday for Buenos Ayres. He says he has accepted £loy 000 to fight Langford or Ma'cVea in South America.
BUTTER SUPPLY. SYDNEY, February 28. The Government is arranging- for ar adequate winter supply of butter at n reasonable price. Details of the scheme have not been devulged. N.S.W. COAL SHORTAGE. SYDNEY, February 28. The coal shortage is being viewed seriously. A permit was refused an Allied vessel to load at Newcastle fc San Francisco. Representatives of the unions are proceeding to Melbourne to obtain modification of the restrictions.
