MORTALITY IN HORSES

SYMPTOMS OF TETANUS,

CHRISTCHURCH, this day. A serious epidemic, with considerable mortality among horses is raging in North Canterbury. Animals are attacked with paralysis in the legs; then they fall and do not rise again. Many of the symptoms are those of tetanus without the lockjaw. It is highly infectious and animals should be isolated when attacked. Go- i;i vernment officials are investigating 4 the disease.
