BAKER BROS.' GIGANTIC CIRCUS.

The above Circus opens here on Tuesday, 22nd February, opposite the Taihapo Foundry, Kuku Street, and according to press accounts, this big concern is what the Americans would call ''some bully show.” This Circus has been running in Australia, South Africa, and other countries, for the past 25 years, and is making its final tour of the world. Baker’s Circus, although unknown to New Zealand folk, is a household word in other parts of the world, and every little child and grown-up in Australia looks forward to its annual appearance. It is the intention of tiie management to present to New Zealand audiences a real Circus programme, free from vulgarity, and thoroughly entertaining. This eombisnation is headed by the world-famous Baker Family, a troupe of lady and gen tlemen artists, who shako dice with death on the flying trapeze, etc. First appearance in Australasia of Miss Barbcrina, the poet of motion, in something new and novel on the silver wire, also contortionist of the highest order. This little lady is a show in herself, and must be seen to be believed. Now comes Kioto, the upsidedown man and comedy merchant, who ! is recognised to be Japan’s greatest foot-juggler, juggling everything with the aid of his feet. La Belle Gertie, the famous Dental Queen, of worldwide reputation, who we have all road about but have never seen hero yet, is advertised to be with this big show. Mr. Baker engaged this lady at great i expense and she returns to America at the end of the year. Miss La Belle Gertie presents on e of the most deathdefying acts in the circus arena. Mr. Fred Carlson plays instruments of all kinds, introducing the Drainpipoaphone, made from bicycle tubing, etc.
