A GALLIPOLI ROMANCE.
A lady reader of that popular British penn'orth, "John Bull," Avhose Avas published as the Avinner of one of that paper's "Bullets" competitions, has just received a letter AA-ritten under peculiarly interesting, if not entirely unique circumstances. The writer is an Australian soldier at present in camp in Cairo, and this is the story. "While fighting in the trencher at Gallipoli a few Aveeks ago I picked up a piece of, neAvspaper, which I put in my pocket, and of eoiirse forgot a) 1 about it. Since then I haA-e been wounded. I am all right now, and on going through my pockets I found, -to my surprise, that nearly the Avhole of the paper had been blown aAvay, and a good piece of my pocket as well. Only one small piece of paper renins
ed, and that contained your address, telling lioav you Avon a Bullets Competition. Bather a strange coincidence, wasn't it! Hence this letter." Will there be a 'romantic sequel' to the remarkable little story —something with the Voice that breathed o'er Eden" in it —one wonders?
