JEALOUS HUSBAND'S CRIME.
COUNTESS AND LOVER ATTACK ED.
Csptain Fencglia, an officer of a "crack" cava'ry regiment stationed at Rome, went for a drive in a dogcart in the direction of the Humbert Polygone. By his side was a Countess, well known in Roman society, who nine days previously had been separated from her husband by a decree of the 'ltalian Courts. It appears that the husband learned of the drive, and, mad with jealousy, hired a powerful motor-car and went in pursuit. ' When the dogcart came in sight the husband drove straight for it. Captain Fenoglia in vain endeavoured to avoid a collision. He and the Countess were pitched headlong on to the road. The driver of the motor car then alighted and discharged a revolver several times at the captain as he lay on the ground. He also stabbed his wife several times with a knife. The captain died as he reached the hospital to which he was taken. The Countess is in a grave condition.
