AN OPEN LETTER
TO THE WOMEN OF TAUT APE AND DISTRICT.
As you are all aware, the Taihape Patriotic Committee decided to hold "Tricolour Day" in aid of the French Red Cross Society on Show Day, February 23rd, and further decided to ask tvi e assistance of the women. Unfortunately, I had an engagement in Wellington which I could rot postpoe and which necessitate my absence until close on Show Day.
I therefore appeal, through the Press to the women of the town and district to aid, by all the means in their power, thi grand Society which has done' so much for our troops in France and elsewhere.
We women have made Reel Cross work our especial branch of war activity, and I confidently count on your help.
Th 0 Committee that worked so well for "Gallipoli Day" is willing to do what it can for 'Tricolour Day,' and in my absence I shall be glad if all those able or willing to help will communiaate with the Secretary of that Committee, Mrs E. B. Jennings, Weka Street. Taihape. E. ABBOWSMITH. Mayoress.
