THE KING'S SPEECH.
AT THE RE-OPENING OF PARLIA MENT.
WAE LEGISLATION ONLY TO BE
INTRODUCED.
(Reed. 10.40 a.m.)
LONDON, February I*s
King George, in his speech, said: The spirit of my Allies and my people, who are united in this conflict in everstrengthening ties of sympathy and understanding, remains steadfast in the resolution to secure reparation for the victims of unprovoked and unjustifiable outrage, and to effectually. safeguard all nations against the aggr«s>sion of a power w-bich mistakes force for right, and expediency for honour. With proud, grateful confidence, I look to the courage, tenacity, and resolve of my Navy and Army, whereon we depend to worthily perform our part in the attainment of this goal. The only measures introduced will be such as tend to the attainment of our common object. I confidently commend these to your patriotism and loyally, and I pray that the Almighty will give his blessing on your counsels.
