DEFENCE NOTES.

. The Taihape quota of the 14th Keinforcements will go into camp about the 13th March. The quota is not yet complete, there being still vacancies for Infantry.

The following men left Taihape this morning to go into camp with the 13th Reinforcements (Infantry):—

E. McKinnon, Utiku; F. R. Smith, Taihape; R.T. Wilson, Taihape; J. J. Bagley, Taihape.

A draft of Maoris is to go into camp at Auckland next month as a reinforcement to the Maori Expeditionary Force. Since the original Maori force left, very few have volunteered in this district, and it is hoped that a large number Avill volunteer for the March draft. All intending volunteers should apply to either Staff-Sergeant-Major Tuckey, or to King! Topia, at Bennett's Siding.
