THE A. AND P. SHOW.
TIME FOR ENTRIES EXTENDED
The general entries for the Rangitikei A. and P. Show, to be held on the 23rd inst., closed on Saturday night, and on the whole the Committee are Avell' pleased with the response. Numerically, the numbers are slightly less than last year, but in order to give those who have overlooked making their entries a chance to rectify the omission, the Committee have extended the time to to-morrow night CWednesday)-. The entries for the fat sheep classes for local farmers is rather disappointing, especially as a most handsome and valuable trophy is set aside for their exclusive competition. It was thought that with the advent of the freezing works, the' local exhibits would have been over the ordinary. The ladies this year have for some reason neglected to a certain extent the Home Industries section, for whtcn is also available a valuable trophy. From a spectacular point of view, this Show will be the best yet held. The entries constitute a record in number, and all the best-known jumpers which compete at the Metropolitan Shows are entered. Late entries may be made with the Secretary (Mr. A. M. Ryan") lip to S p.m. to-morrow night.
