EXTRAORDINARY ANNOUNCEMENT.
ALL UNMARRIED CALLED UP. (Reed. 9.45 a.m.) An announcement calling up the remaining eleven classes of unmarrieds came as a surprise as it was expected they Avould be called up in batches at intervals.
There has been great 'activity.at the War Office during the last few days. Noteworthy in this connection, the Army Council sent out new recruiting- instructions. Birmingham points out that the calling up of the first four groups resulted in obtaining a very small percentage. It is impossible the lists must be revised continually, and it is 'also believed, but not confirmed ,that the younger Derbyite marrieds will be notified within a month.
