Berlin messages, via Amsterdam, state that fighting in Bukovina is igain cfcrthe most violent, the Russian attacks on Aarancze heights, tear Czelnowitz^rbeing particularly terrible. Desperate hands to hand ighting lasted for hours. Most infantry fighting occurs during the night, artillery prevailing in the daytime. A to-day’s French wireless say s there is much Russian infantry actiity on the Yiolhynian front and in east Galicia. Strong detachments atacked the Austrian lines in the Tarpopol region. There i s also violent ghting on the Bessarabian frontier. A German official message merely remarks that advances were made y Russian patrols at several points along the front, but were repulsed.
