Williams, well-known East Coast sheep- ! farmers, who purchased a property of 5,100 acres at Te Araroa, intend utilising it for the settlement of returned wounded soldiers from the Waxapu County. The value of the property and stock is approximately £45,000. It is thought that it will take twelve to fifteen men, who will pay Tent, but which will go back to the Wounded Soldiers' Fund. Mr. Hine, the member for Stratford,. has accepted an appointment as captain in the 36th Reinforcements, and goes into camp, at Featberston in March.
