A YOUNG HERO.

Blind as a result of wounds received in the trenches of Champagne, tave Envin, a gallant young Frenchman aged 18, has just passed the second part of the examination for the Baccalaureat of Letters and Philosophy. M. Envin, who is the son of a professor at the College of Armentieres, was only 17 when the war broke out, and he interrupted his studies voluntarily to join the colours. He fought with conspicuous gallantry, and is the wearer of the Croix de Guerre and the Military medal. With -that fine courage- which rises superior to fate, M. Envin, after he had recovered from his wounds, resumed his studies and has now passed this examination, dictating his papers to two college professors.
