THINKS HE CAN DESTROY GERMANY.
While the generals of the Allied .forces have been puzzling their brains for many months to determine how to bring the Teutons to their knees, Americans have rubbed their eyes with surprise at the claims made by W. J. de la Mare, of Roblin, Manitoba. According to a dispatch from Winnipeg, this remarkable Canadian declares that Berlin can be destroyed in an hour by an airship carrying nine tons of nitro-glycerine and thirty barrels of gasoline. The inventor, who hag gained much prominence in Manatoba, says he has wosked on his plans for thirty-five years. The machine, he asserts, can travel 150 miles
an hour, remain in the air twenty-six days, and can destroy the whole German Empire in twenty days. The machine’s plans call for four high-power-i ed engines, and three guns six inches in diameter 'and eight feet long. He said that he has determined to leave shortly for Washington to construct forty machines. Twenty will be sent to the British Navy, and the remainder will be used in North American defence, he said. Germany’s finish should be both swift and certain should de la Mare realise his aspirations!
