THEIR REASONS ANALYSED. WELLINGTON, January 26. A preliminary statement of the result of the National Register has been issued, 8390 single men and widowers without dependents stated they were not prepared to volunteer for the expeditionary forces nor to serve in other capacities. These have been analysed and the results, said Hon. Russell to-day, are as follows: —Religious or conscientious objectors 819, for business reasons 2237, personal reasons 3131, political reasons 260, mjiiscel aneous reasons 20jl, no reasons stated 1739. Total 8390.
