Recently the solicitors to the Otago Education Board gave the opinion that it would not be Legal to hold the elections for the new education districts this year because the -elections of the Act setting up the districts did not come into force until August, and the elections had to be held in July. The Solicitor-General has, however, given the opinion that the Minister may-alter the Act by regulation, and hold the elections in July.
