INTERESTING WEDDING. LONDON, Jan. 25. Captain Tahu Rhodes, of the Grenadier Guards, a New Zealander, was married to the Hon. Helen Plunkett. Th 6 wedding took place in the Guards' ehapel. Wounded New Zealanders filled several pews. Among the guests : were Lords Buccleugh, Anglesey, Dufferin, Iveagh, Cowry, and Islington. RATING ON UNIMPROVED VALUES. SYDNEY, Jan. 25. The Lord Mayor, at a reception, announced that he hoped shortly to give effect to the first plank of th e Labour platform, namely uniformity in rating on unimproved land values only. KILLING THE GOOSE. SYDNEY, Jan. 25. Speaking to a conference to devise a scheme for settling the demarcation of disputes in various trades at the Cockatoo Island ship-building yards, the Hon. Jensen warned unionists that if they persisted in inter-State disputes, there was a danger of warship building in Australia, being dropped.
