The Committee of the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association under whose auspices the 1916 Ram Fair is to be held have decided to extend the closing date for entries to the 22nd inst. The Fair will be held in the Wheeler Memorial Sheep Pavilion on the 3rd and 4th February, the two days suceceding the Feilding Show. A very good entry is anticipated.

WHEREAS at a conference of Patriotic Societies held at Wellington on the 19th November, 1915, it was inter alia resplyed and agreed that Patriotic Committees accept responsibility for supplementing, separation allowances of wives of—soldiers, assisting parents and other s depending wholly cr partially en soldiers and providing comfort s fcr their children in addition to providing comforts for the sick and wounded soldiers. As therefore the objects of the Wounded Soldiers' Fund are extended to embrace the objects of the Local Relief Fund, the Taihape and District Patriotic Committee proposes to amalgamate these two funds unless objection, in writing, be lodged with the Hon. Secretary, Box 67, Taihape, before the Ist proximo.
