REGIMENTS ON SERVICE.
ALLOCATIONS OF UNIT NUM BERS.
The following unit numbers have been allocated by the Director of Base Records in connection with the allottment of regimental numbers to men on active service:—
1. Samoan Advance. 2. N. Z. Field Artillery. 3. N.Z. Medical Corps. 4. N.Z. Field Engineers. 5. A.C.S. (supply). 0. Canterbury Infantry Battalion. 7. Canterbury Mounted Rifles. S. Otago Infantry Battalion. 9. Otago Mounted Rifles. 10. Wellington Infantry Battalion. 11. Wellington Mounted Rifles. 12. Auckland Infantry Battalion. 13. Auckland Mounted Rifles. 14. Divisional Train (A.S.C.) 15. Headquarters. 10. N.Z. Maori Contingent 17. N.Z. Veterinary Corps. IS. Chaplains. 19. Samoan Relief (Infantry). 20. Samoan Relief (Mounted). 21. Array Pay Department. 22. N.Z.A. Nursing Service. 23. Ist TTentham Battalion, N.Z.R.B. 24. 2nd Trentham Battalion, N.Z.R.B.
The figures before the bate in each soldier’s name is his unit number, indicating to which arm he belongs. Thus, the 7 in No. 7/1373 shows that the trooper belongs to thte Canterbury Mounted Rifles, and the 10 in No. 10/2323 indicates that the man is a member of the Wellington Infantry Battalion.
