WOOL TRAFFIC CONGESTION.
If reports arc to be believed, Raetilii wool-growers are in the enviable position of the man who broke the bank at Monte Carlo, for it is state* that their output of wool is of such a voilume as to render the Railway Department 's powers insufficient for dealing with it. The Call, in its last issue, published the following:—lt se'ems that the wool traffic is so heavy this year that what has the appearance of serious traffic congestion is being experienced at Wellington. A Raetihi forwarding agent has been advised from Ohakune station, fofr general information, it is understood, that no more wool can be accepted from here until further notice, the accommodation being now taxed to the utmost. As local carriers have much wool in stare and numerous carting orders on hand, this will be unpleasant news for settlers who have still to get their wool away. On present appearances the shortage of shipping space, which is responsible for this iiold-up, will be felt very acutely throughout the eounitry this season.
