THE TAIHAPE A. & P. SHOW.

The Rangitikei A. and P. Association’s fifth 'annual show is to be held on the Recreation Ground, Taihape, on the 23rd of next month. The schedules of the classes are now in circulation, and, from a perusal of one of them, it is evident that the Committee is leaving no stone unturned to make this Show the most successful yet held. Every section of exhibitors is well catered for ,and those classes which have in the past have been given particular attention. The monetary prizes right through the schedule compare more than favourably with those of other shows in larger centres, and in addition there are an exceptional number of special prizes which have been donated. In the draught horse section there 'are three silver cups, in the saddle and harness horse section there is a 25 guinea Challenge Cup. To the competitions there has been allotted £75 in prize money and a £25 Challenge Cup not counting the Ladies’ Hunters competition for which there has been allotted £22 and a silver cup. The sheep and cattle sections are treated similarly to last year, except that in ,the_ ease of fat sheep there is an additional cup for competition among local farmers exclusively, and e £5

'5/- cup is donated for the vegetables * /and fruit section as a points prize and, similarly, one is donated for the home industries. As the whole of the profits for the forthcoming year are to be given for patriotic purposes the committee looks forward to record entries. A postcard to the secretary will bring one of the schedules, and jiio one with an inclination to show anything in any of the various classes should omit to get one. The Main Trunk Ram Fair will be held on the ■day following the show, 'and the result of previous fair s is a guarantee that there will be no dearth of en- | tries this year.
