ARRIVE IN, AUCKLAND. I
AUCKLAND ,This Day.
The Ruahine arrived at 11 p.m., bringing 60 officers 'and 201 non corns -•id men who went on board at Plymouth. All are convalescent. The majority were wounded in the early fighting. A large proportion are belonging to the main body, but it is thought that reinforcements are represented up to the fifths. Many of the men wounded in the chest were sent to England for special treatment. They had a good voyage and a very fine reception at Capetown. GovernorGeneral Buxton extending a personal welcome to each man. They were taken out on motor excursions and entertained at clubs, etc. They speak very highly of the treatment at hospitals in Britain, and most were given free railway passes, and reduced fares to enable them to go on sight-seeing tours. Southern residents go south by the Ruahine, a large proportion of whom will shortly be fit to return to the front. Mr. Wallingford, who is among the* returned men, was entertained at ?M civic reception and luncheon.
