The Government’s new taxation proposals being introduced this week, include taxes on betting tickets and bookmakers. To suburban, country and pony courses end paddocks £2O; to Leger £lO additional. The Government proposes to take 20 per cent of the fees paid by bookmakers to racing clubs. Each betting-Ticket is to bear a penny government stamp. It is expected that this new taxation will realise half a million per annum.
