QUICK WORK.
A bluejacket on one of the destroyer s stationed at Harwich, made a strong bid for the matrimonial speed record the other day. The handy man could only get two hours' leave of absence from his ship, but he used it well. His fiancee and friends met him directly he reached the shore, and they drove in a taxi to Ramsey Church —a good three miles off. There the married couple drove back to Harwich to have a "top-speed" wedding breakfast. If it is possible to "go one better" than this, then it must surely be an instance mentioned by Lady Randolph. Churchill in a recent magazine article. She says that the nearest approach she knows to a marriage made in heaven was the case of an aviatojr friend of hers who flew over from Dunkirk re- | cently, married a bride, and then flew I back again!
