MOTHER GOOSE PANTOMIME
i During the recent Auckland season of the ‘Mother Goose’’ Pantomime ;Co.. the artists raised a sum of over £BOO by means of a mock court held nt Her Majesty’s Theatre. Mr Mill' Raynor was the judge and Mr. James Gerald the prosecuting attorney. They were ably assisted by Miss Essie Jonning. the charming principal boy. who, disguised in a policeman’s hat and coat, arrested all and sundry. The efforts of the performers at the recent Queen Carnival will be remembered. I when, headed by Mr. George Stephenson, they assisted in bringing the total amount for the wounded soldiers to the large sum of £12,000. In each town in which i--.c company plays Miss Jennings sings the patriot!! song. ‘ ‘ Your King and Country Need. Yon. her efforts being rewarded by a generous shower of coins, all of which gc to the local funds. Miss Jennings ithe fortunate possessor of an excellent figure, a good soprano voice, and is an actress of no mean order. She is ably assisted in her part of Bov Blue by Miss Rosie Coleman, who makes a charming Little Red Riding Hood. Another artiste of exceptional ability is Miss Carmen Coleman, who plays the part of Johnny Stent. Amongst the clever specialities are the Main’ne Haka trio, acrobats and whirlwind dancers, and Miss Ruboe Raymond, a charming exponent of the art of toe dancing. “Mother Goose” can be played in Taihape on Tuesday night only, the .second production on Mcdnosday next being the charming pantomime “Cinderella,” or “The Girl who Put Her Foot in It. ” The box plan for both productions is now open at Fuien a C-muir her-: seat:? may be served without extra charge/- 1
