WAR PENSIONS.

DETAILS OF ADMINISTRATION,

WELLINGTON, This Day

The War Pensions Board has dealt with 424 cases to date. Of these 222 pensions granted, in 42 temporary allowances were made, 56 were declined, 21 were adjourned and there are 83 still in Imad. The average of pensions granted is £4B. NEW ZEALAND PATRIOTIC FUNDS OVER A MILLION SUBSCRIBED. WELLINGTON, This Day.

Speaking at a conference of representatives of Patriotic Societies the Hon G. W. Russell stated that funds raised in New Zealand by patriotic societies already totalled over a million pounds. He emphatically denied that the Government, by means of the War Fund’s Act, intended to collar patriotic funds. The object of a war fund’s council would be to secure efficient administration.
