WOOL SALES.
A RECORD FOR GREASIES. WELLINGTON, November 17 The wool sales held to-day had a full buying representation. The catalogue comprised 5123 bales and the competition was mainly for America. Southdown sold at 23 1 and 24£, constituting a record for greasy wool. New Zealand and French buying was also a pronounced feature of the sa!<\ together with the buying for local requirements. Fine crossbreds realised ISd to 19d, probably making the fair average price for the sale in the region of 16d. Bradfrod is buying top-making wools up to 14d.
