A THRILLING WAR PROGRAMME. GREATEST OF PATRIOTIC DRAMAS “WILL THEY NEVER COME.” (Under the Patronage of the Governor an<j Lady Liverpool,, the Prime Minister of New Zealand and the Minister of Defence) KING’S THEATRE, THURSDAY. FRIDAY. SATURDAY, 18th, 19th and 20th inst.

On Thursday an exceptionally fine war programme is to be screened at the King’s Theatre. Among the pictures is one of an actual fight taken with a telephoto-lens from an aero- , plane. This particular programme is under very distinguished patronage as the following letter will show: “I (have to thank you for your very kindly thought in asking me to view your motion picture, entitled ‘Will hey Never Come.” I think the exhibition of the picture ought to impress ppon those whose duty it is to enlist at this time, the necessity of complying wivh line demands of such duty, and I have no doubt the lesson whijh is to be learned from your picture will help in this respect. Please note tr.at unmarried men are specially desired as

The rest of the pictures on the programme will refer to the present war, including the first authentic fighting picture we have had, “Brilliant French Victory in the Vosges Mountains,” “The Samoa Relief Force and Belgian Fund Procession,” “Our Cavalry in France,” “Canadians Rally Round the Flag,” “Nieuport under Fire.” Remember for three, nights only, a whole war programme with one exception,as the programme will finish with a good Keystone. To enable every one to see this fine programme the management has decided to charge the usual prices, viz,, D.C. 1/; Stalls, 6d. THREE STARS THEATRE. There is a very fine programme at this theatre, the star being a “Question cf Courage,” showing the mother trying to prevent her son from going to the war, supported by other good pictures, including a Keystone with Fatty and Mabel and the Law. DEFENCE NOTES. Staff-Sergeant-Major Tuckey has received the following notification from headquarters:—All recruits proceeding to camp must be given to understand that under no circumstances will they, be transferred to any other branch of service after arrival in camp. The following men have’ not replied to the notices sept them accepting their services for the 10th Reinforcements: J. A. Floyd, T. L. Potroz, J. Reed, T. W. King, C. E. McLenaghan, W. E. Williams, V. H. Williams, J. E. Morgan. THE CARNIVAL. In another column, Miss Forde’s Committee thank all those who gave articles and produce of all descriptions to be sold at their stall at the bazaar. Everything was sold except one article and the prices realised wore very satisfactory. Many things were hard to sell, as they were handed back time after time to be sold again, the most notable being the little black lamb which realised £lB 10/. It mas finally bought by Mr, Duncan. The prize for the small raffle was won by Ticket No. 17 (Mr. E. N. Bentley) and can be obtained at Mr. Fraser’s shop. All tlio.se who still have books of art union tickets are requested to return them at once to enable the Committee to draw the raffles.
