Shanghai reports that Admiral Jucheng, who is Governor of Shanghai, was proceeding to the Japanese Consulate to attend the Coronation reception when ihe was shot by two revolut’zmaries. The Admiral was taken to the hospital, where he died almost immediately. The assassins fired eighteen shots from automatic pistols. TORNADO IN AMERICA. MANY PEOPLE KILLED. HOUSES SET OJN FIRE. ’ EVERYTHING LEVELLED. (Reed. 10.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, Nov. 11. At the Great Bend, Kansas, it is reported that about fifteen lives were lost by a tornado which swept Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska. Colorado and South Dakota. The storm tore a path sixteen miles wide, and wrecked electric plant, waterworks, telegraphs, and telephones. The damage is estimated at half-a-million. A railroad department was demolished and half the houses of the city were wrecked; it also wrecked trains carrying doctors and nurses sent from Hutchinson in response to pleas for aid. The exact number of dead is not known, owing to lack of communication. A fire broke out in several buildings wihich, owing to lack of water, were burned to the ground. AUSTRALIANS LIBELLED. IN BRITISH PARLIAMENT. (Reed 11.15 a.m.) LONDON, November 11. Mr Ginnell in the House of Commons asked Sir E. Grey if he could state the number of outrages and offences committed by the Australian forces in Egypt and whether instructions had been given that they should not be reported or recorded. Before an an- . s wer could be given, interrupting members demanded Mr Ginnell’s authority for such statements. The Speaker remarked that Mr Ginnell made himself responsible for the statements.
