AT THE DARDANELLES. PARIS, Nov. 4. A communique states: Between the 20th Ocotber and tjhe Ist inst., the only incident of note at the Dardanelles was a mine explosion ot our advantage. OFFICIAL REPORT. The High Commissioner reports as follows: LONDON, Nov. 4 Lively grenade combats took niace during the night in the trenches on the route from Lille to the south-east of Neuville, St. Vaast. At the same time there was violent artillery fighting. In the Champagne region at Farm Chatass the French, by an immediate counter-attack, re-occupied the portions of trenches captured last evening by the Germans, despite a most desperate resistance supported by liquid flame jets. RECRUITING IN ENGLAND. (Times and Sydney Sun Serving.; LONDON, Nov. 4. Recruiting is exceptionally good in all centres. The machinery of Lord Derby’s scheme is nearing completion. Two hundred thousand men and women cnavassers are fast, enrolling recruits. There are also 469 recruiting committees. Nearly a thousand postmen in Birmnigham have joined the army. They have been replaced by women.
