Several meat producers held a meeting on the Palmerston North Show Grounds, to discuss the question ■ f the

commandeering of meat by the Co eminent. One speaker said some ' the meat sq commandeered, not being required by the British Govern men - had been sold to private firms at a Arge profit, which did not go to the producer. It was resolved that the >a,e

question of commandeering aid si ippmg meat should be carefully and impartially investigated by the authori-

ties. A committee was set up to assist.
