THE BOASTFUL KAISER.
“GERMANY CAN NEVER BE DEFEATED.” THE. COMING CONQUEST OP EUROPE. According to information received through diplomatic channels from
Vienna, f,he German Emperor has recently been delivering a series of extremely bombastic speeches. At Lemberg a few days after the evacuation of that place by the Russians, the German Emperor (wires tihespecial correspondent of the “Standard” in Zurich) said;
“Our enemies in the East and in the West are being overcome by the might of Germany, aided by the loyalty of her allies; victory, complete and overwhelming, is in sight, and then Germania will remain supreme R, hm. gloiy the liberation of Europe, and the guardian cf Rultirr.”'
Speaking at Cracow, the German Emperor said:
‘A century and a-half ago my illustrious ancestor. Frederick the GreaN
faced and feught with heroic success the xomainder of Europe, so that his name has come dowm to posterity as one of the outstanding figures of all history-
“What that great scion of the Hokenzollern family achieved in the 18th. century is being repeated at the present time.
“Prussia fought and overcame a world of enemies at that time; now Germany is fighting, and is overcoming a world-wide conspiracy, extending even to the Far East, to blot her out from her place in civilisation. “Germany can never be defeated, never extinguished. The Almighty has a mission for Germany to achieve work for Germans to accomplish. Germany will rapidly prove to the world that she can vanquish her foes and vest are
peace on her own terms.” A third Imperial oration, delivered to a small gathering of privileged persons at Eeuthen, Silesia, was as follows:
“The war has been waged with all t!he weapons at our disposal as a man fights when his life is threatened by treacherous bandits.
“The many fce s who united against us, thought that they could bring about our destruction, but they were mistaken. Now' they are feeling the weight of Germany’s blows. Now they are beginning to realise that Germany is strong enough for all of them together. We march to victory.” At Konigsberg, East Prussia, the German Emperor spoke in an equally boastful tone.
“Complete victory over all our enemies in all directions is at hand. The present is still gloomy, owing to the universal mourning into wfhich we have been plunged for our brave ones, but the future for Germany and for all Germans. For that we have to thank the Almighty and our own strong arm and sharp sword.”'
The Petrcgrad correspondent cf the “Morning Post” wires: The news is current here that the Empejor William has telegraphed to his-sister, the Queen of Greece, to the effect that he “hits paralysed the Russians for at least six months to come, and is on the e e of delivering a conn on his Western f’ont that will mahe all Europe tremble;”
