THE RUANUI GARDEN FETE.
DON'T FORGET THURSD\7 WEEK
SPORTS AND HORSE EVENTS. The RuaUui people seem determined to make the Garden Fete and Sports, that are to eventuate on Thursday, the 28th October, a'function never before surpassed or'-equalled in magnitude and interest in that neighbourhood. In addition to what enjoyment jhas been offered, to say nothing of what everyone knows may be expected from the Ruanui people in. the way of hospitality, some very interesting horse events have been added to the sports programme. Hurdle races;, stockmen's races, pony races, numerous other competitions for horses and pedestrians will certainly tend to make the Ruanui function more of a gala day than a mere garden party. Nevertheless the delightfulness of the quiet garden party may be enjoyed by those who enjoy that form of amusement while more robust desires will be well catered for in sports and horse events.
