“D” 7t!h W.W.C. Regiment will furnish. a Firing Party of 1.N.C.0. and 12 men for the funeral of the late Chief Hiraka Terango at Moawhango on SUNDAY, 17th inst. Taking the cities individually,, the amount cf money required to buy what could he bought for £1 n the ; year s 1909 to 1913 is: In Wellington,. £1 4/10id; Auckland. £1 l/8?d; Christchurch. £1 I/U;d; and Dunedin, £1 1/11. This- is a practical proof of the rise in the cost of living. In {reprices of groceries, cyairy produce, and meat, the increase of all three combined in Wellington is 13.20 per cent., for August 14 last over July 31, 1914,
