I £8,250 FOE A FLAG. At FeUding there was a recordT booking at Dr. Martin's lecture, the receips being over £IOO. The sale of the flag, presented by Mr. Short in aid of the patriotic funds, realised £8,250. The flag was re-sold many timos, among the purchasers being Misses Thelma and Evelyn Short, £150; Mrs. W. D. Fry, £SO; Br. Hugh BurrelF. £2O; Mr. E. A. Twigg, £ls; Mrs. J. Knight, £25. The final bidder was Mr. W. G. Pearce, with £lO. He handed the flag over to the Feildinjj Borough Council as a memento of the occasion. Dr. Martin was accorded a warm vote of thanks for the lecture.
