A GERMAN TRIBUTE.

OX THE BOMBARDMENT. AMSTERDAM, Sept. 29. The Cologne Gnzette declares that the possibility of the enemy breaking through- no longer exists. The number of German prisoners is exaggerated. A high officer, interviewed, says a tremendous attack, supported by artillery fire such as we had never before experience!, was followd by a hand-to-hand struggle of extraordinary fury. The Germans fully appreciated the bravery of the attackers.. Dr., Wagener, the Gazette's western correspondent, describing the bombardment, says the whole atmosphere was in a state of dull vibration; the physical sensation of being shaken by air waves was like the underground growling of a distant volcano shaking the crust of the earth for miles around. It was the most remarkable and exciting sensation imaginable.
