POISON-GAS VICTIM'S SUICIDE. Suffering from the effects of gas poisoning, Private Henry Molloy, age 33, of the King's Own Eoyal Lancaster Eegiment, a married men, who al'so served in the South African war, committed suicide in a military hospital in Manchester by cutting his throat. At the inquest the coroner remarked that it could be safely said that Molloy had died for his country just as much as if he had died on the field of battle. But for the sufferings he had undergone Molloy would never have taken his life. The sister in charge of the ward told how she asked Molby whether he had slept well and re ieplied, "Yes, fairly, but I shall be better when I have had the long sleep.'' She replied, "Yes, old chap, yot will be all • right when you have lad a long , sleep," to which he rejoinei, "I mean the other sleep."
