INCREASED TELEGRAPH RATES.

IN FORCE TO-DAY. The Seeretary of the Post and Telegraph Department publicly announces that the increased charges on telegrams will comenee from to-day (Friday). The revised charges are to be as follows: —For ordinary telegrams delivered within the Dominion on week days, twelve words or less, including address and signature—Urgent 1/2, ordinary Sd; extra words one penny and a halfpenny in each case respectively. On Sundays, urgent 2/2, ordinary 1/2; extra words 2d and Id each respectivel}-. Sunday rates to be charged at all offices without exception. The alteratioon in the rates means an addition of 2d to the rates hitherto charged and that week day and Sunday rates-apply to all offices. For cable messages the charges are as hitherto, plus 2d. r
