The death took place yesterday of Mr. John McLaehlan, who was formerly member of Parliament for Ashburton. He was 75 years of age. The Hon. W. F. Nicholas is relinguishing bis ieasVof the Three Stars Theatre and will, in future, run his picture entertainments in the King's Theatre, Station Street, solely. The Hon. R. K. Simpson, of the Kangitikei, wben on bis way to the Legislative Council on Friday afternoon, fell while alighting from a tram car in Lambton Quay, and sustained a badly dislocated shoulder.
