HIDE A3TD SKIN REPORT. Dalgety and Co.*, T.td.. report:—We held our usual fortnightly .sale of skins, hides, and ta.Eow at Wellington on 3rd September; and in conjunction offeree crutchings and fleece wool that had been held over during the past month specialy for this sale. There was ? good attendance of-buyers, but prices for skins were slightly easier, showing a drop of i{d per lb for halfbreds and line crossbreds, and about. ]d to -Id per lb for other lines. Hides wore on a i par with tiie prices ruling a fortnight ago, which were very satisfactory. Fleece wool and crutchings sold very erratically, only good clean lines beingbid on, and prices for these were on about a par with those realised r month ago. All bale wool will be held over for our first wool sale of the 1915-1 G season on 17th November next. Th.e next sale of skins, hides, and bag wool will be held on 17th September. Tallow; In casks, 22/(1, 21/9 cwt; an tins, IG/, 23/ cwt. Sundries: Opussum skins, I/G, 2/2 each; cow tails, .1/3, 1/4. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report having a very fair entry of both sheep and cattle at Marton, cn Tuesday. Hoggets were not In such keen demand, but other classes of stock sold readily. We quote: Best mixed hoggets, 21/7, 23/7; good do., 19/1; medium do., 17/1, 17/3; cull do., 11/11, 14/5; forward ewes, 20/; cull do., 9/6; ewes and lambs, 34/; 2tooth wethers, 25/9; fat ewes, 25/9, 28/9; fat wethers, 31/7, 32/8; springing heifers, £6, £6 5/, £6 10/; ethers, £3 to £5 12/; springing cows, £3 5/, £5 5/; cows in milk, £4 10/, £6; -empty cows, to £5; 21 to 3-yr steers, £7 15/; bad-coloured do.. £5 7/ to £6 5/; yearling do.. £2 2/6, £3; weaner do.. 20/, 30/; cull do.. 12/; weaner he’fers. 37/6; fat cows, £10; fat heifers, £8 5/. -
