Miss Miria Whemiaroa has. accepted nomination in the Taihape Queen Carnival Competitions. Mrs. and Miss Elliott Wilson, who have been on a holiday in Wellington, return to Taihape by this evening’s train. Mr. Walsh, after clearing up the Pahiatua Carnival, has returned to Taihape, and is already making his presence felt as organiser of the local effort to raise money for our wounded soldiers.

Mrs. A. Knox, of “The Bungalow,” who has ben an ardent worker of the Taihape Women’s Working Club since its inception, left by the express this morning for a tri pto Australia. Mrs. Knox sails by the Manuka on Friday from Wellington.
