The cliairman of the Wellington Education Bosird said that the Director of Education had informed tJ»e board that £2289 had been raised by the school children in New Zealand tor the purpose of providing motor imoula ices for service with the New Xea'and troops at the 11-ont. The sum had been expended in the purchase of five motor ambulances at a cost of £450 apiece, and these had been sent to Egypt. On each ambulance was a metal plate inscribed, "Presented by the School Children of New Zealand for use with the Expeditionary J-o-ve." The High Commissioner had i oon ask d e to apply any balance remninhg in a manned as nearly as possible :-n accordace with the wishes of A he donors. "I would net trust my monsy to five farmers to run a mercantile business," said His Honour Mr Justice Hosk'ng, at the Supreme Court, Wellington.
